At 11:30am today, Wednesday 14th February, 2018 the transmission line carrying power to our customers along the Nadi to Sigatoka Corridor tripped, causing an unplanned power outage. FEA teams conducted a line patrol and identified the cause of outage to be a broken insulator at Nawaicoba.
This outage affected power supply to the customers in the following areas: Nabou Pine station, FEA/Vodafone/Digicel/TFL Repeater Stations at Kavukavu, Waibogi, Nabou Green, Intercontinental Resort, Fijian Resort, Outrigger Resort, Naviti Resort and the Warwick Resort.
This unplanned power outage resulted from power line hardware failure in number of locations because of windy conditions encountered due to the current weather condition. While we do our utmost to prevent such failures, it is impossible to completely eliminate them.
Our teams are still repairing the fault and power supply is expected to be restored later this evening.
The FEA sincerely apologizes for any inconvenience caused to all our valued customers due to this unplanned power outage.
